GFC Hair Treatment in Greater Noida West The growth factors, without the rest.
Growth Factor Concentrate is a newer development of PRP: your own blood, processed so that the growth factors are released from the platelets and concentrated into a small, cell-free preparation. It is given as a shorter series and tends to be more comfortable. At Lavanayam it is planned and performed under an MD dermatologist as part of a full hair fall plan.
Typical ranges. Session numbers, timelines and results vary with severity, the treatment chosen and individual response — your plan is confirmed at consultation.
About This Treatment
What Is GFC Hair Treatment?
GFC stands for Growth Factor Concentrate. Like PRP, it starts with a small sample of your own blood. The difference is in the processing: instead of injecting the platelets themselves, the platelets are activated in a specialised kit so that they release their growth factors, and that growth-factor-rich fluid is collected, free of red cells, white cells and platelet debris.
The result is a preparation with a higher and more consistent concentration of the growth factors that matter for hair — PDGF, VEGF, IGF-1 and others — in a smaller volume. Because the cells and debris are removed, it tends to cause less post-injection inflammation and tenderness than PRP, and because the concentration is higher, the standard course is usually shorter.
GFC does the same job as PRP: it supports miniaturised follicles, prolongs the growth phase and improves the local environment around the follicle. It does not create new follicles, so it suits early and moderate thinning and is combined with medical treatment for pattern hair loss. It is a relatively newer technique, so the long-term evidence base is smaller than PRP's, though early clinical results are encouraging.

Ideal Candidate
Who Is This Treatment For?
Adults with early or moderate thinning who still have miniaturised hairs in the affected area, and who want a shorter, more comfortable series than PRP. It is a good option for people with busy schedules, since the standard course is 3 sessions, and for those who have had PRP before and want to try the more concentrated preparation. Like PRP, it is combined with medical treatment for pattern hair loss and is not suitable for smooth, completely bald areas. Suitability is confirmed at consultation after trichoscopy.
How It Works
The Treatment Process
1
Assessment
Diagnosis with trichoscopy, review of any blood work, and a decision on whether GFC is appropriate and how it fits with your medical treatment. Baseline photographs are taken.
2
Blood collection
About 16 ml of blood is drawn into the GFC kit's specialised tubes.
3
Activation and concentration
The tubes are processed — activation, incubation and centrifugation — over roughly 30–40 minutes to release and concentrate the growth factors. The final preparation is a small volume of clear, cell-free fluid.
4
Injection
After cleaning and numbing, the GFC is injected in small amounts across the thinning area. Because the volume is smaller and cell-free, this stage is usually quicker and more comfortable than PRP.
5
Review
Sessions are repeated monthly for the initial series and progress is reviewed against the baseline photographs before any maintenance is planned.
What To Expect
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
A standard GFC course is 3 sessions, four weeks apart — one fewer than a typical PRP course because the preparation is more concentrated. Maintenance, if it is helping, is usually every 6 months. Reduced shedding is often noticed after the second session; improvement in density is judged at 4–6 months.
As with PRP, GFC supports rather than cures. In pattern hair loss the benefit is maintained while treatment continues. Your dermatologist will set the review points at the first visit.
Recovery
Downtime & Aftercare
Mild tenderness or tightness of the scalp for a few hours is normal and usually milder than after PRP.
Do not wash your hair for 12–24 hours; then wash gently with a mild shampoo.
Avoid oils, gels, colour, chemical treatments and heat styling for 48 hours.
Avoid strenuous exercise, swimming and saunas for 24 hours.
Avoid anti-inflammatory painkillers for 48 hours before and after unless prescribed; paracetamol is fine.
Continue your prescribed medical treatment between sessions.

Who Should Avoid or Postpone This Treatment?
Low platelet count, bleeding or clotting disorders, or blood-thinning medication without your physician's agreement.
Active scalp or systemic infection at the time of the session.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding — postponed.
Uncontrolled diabetes, active cancer, chronic liver disease or some autoimmune conditions need to be discussed first.
Completely bald, smooth areas with no fine hairs — no follicles to support.
Heavy smoking reduces the response; you will be advised.
Why Lavanayam
Why Choose Lavanayam for GFC Hair Treatment?
Recommended only where it fits
GFC is offered after trichoscopy and blood work, alongside medical treatment — not as a standalone package.
PRP and GFC both available
We offer both, so the recommendation is based on your case and budget rather than on which kit the clinic stocks.
Consistent, kit-based preparation
The same protocol every session, so the concentration you receive does not vary between visits.
Straight answers on evidence
GFC is newer than PRP and we say so; early results are encouraging and the mechanism is the same, but the long-term evidence is still building.
Your Questions Answered
Frequently Asked Questions
Both start with your blood. PRP concentrates the platelets and injects them; GFC activates the platelets in a specialised kit, collects the growth factors they release, and injects that cell-free concentrate. GFC gives a higher, more consistent growth-factor dose in a smaller volume, usually with fewer sessions and less tenderness, at a higher cost per session. PRP has the longer evidence record.
Usually 3 sessions a month apart, then maintenance every 6 months or so if it is helping. This is set for you at consultation and reviewed against photographs.
Not automatically. GFC's advantages are consistency, comfort and a shorter course; PRP's are cost and a longer track record. Head-to-head evidence is still limited. For most patients either works when combined with medical treatment, and the choice comes down to preference and budget.
Less than PRP for most people, because the injected volume is smaller and contains no cells or debris. Numbing is still used. Tenderness afterwards is mild and short-lived.
Reduced shedding is often noticed after the second session. Improvement in hair density takes 4–6 months to show, judged against baseline photographs.
It uses your own blood, so allergy and rejection are not concerns. Temporary tenderness or pinpoint marks are the usual effects. It is not suitable for people with bleeding disorders or active infection, and is postponed in pregnancy.
You can, but for pattern hair loss you are likely to see less benefit and lose it sooner. Medical treatment addresses the cause; GFC supports the follicles. They work best together.
